Dermal fillers use hyaluronic acid — a substance that occurs naturally in the body — to restore volume, smooth deep lines, define facial contours, and rejuvenate areas that have lost fullness with age. Because hyaluronic acid is biocompatible and naturally broken down by the body, fillers are both safe and fully reversible.

At Acer Dental, all filler treatments are administered by dental professionals with an expert understanding of facial anatomy, nerves, blood vessels, and injection depth. This knowledge is essential for both safety and achieving natural-looking results. We use only premium, CE-marked hyaluronic acid products from trusted manufacturers.

The most popular treatment areas include the lips (for definition and volume), nasolabial folds (the lines from nose to mouth), cheeks (to restore youthful fullness), marionette lines (corners of the mouth), and the chin (for definition and profile improvement). Results are immediate and typically last 6–18 months depending on the area and product used.

Why Choose Dermal Fillers?

  • Immediate, visible results — you leave looking refreshed the same day
  • Fully reversible — hyaluronidase enzyme can dissolve the filler if needed
  • Natural-looking outcomes when placed by a skilled clinician
  • Minimal downtime — most patients return to normal activities the same day
  • Hyaluronic acid is biocompatible — naturally occurring in the body
  • Versatile — lips, cheeks, chin, jawline, nose-to-mouth lines and more

How It Works

  1. Consultation & Facial Assessment

We assess your facial anatomy, skin quality, and discuss your goals. We'll review your medical history and confirm you're a suitable candidate. We explain what is achievable and show you example results.

  2. Consent & Photography

We take baseline photographs for your records and ensure you have given fully informed consent. We discuss the product being used, expected results, and potential side effects.

  3. Topical Anaesthetic (Where Needed)

A topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area 20 minutes before injection. Most premium fillers also contain lidocaine for added comfort during the procedure.

  4. Filler Injection & Sculpting

The filler is injected in small, precise amounts using fine needles or blunt-tipped cannulas. We massage and sculpt as we work to ensure smooth, even distribution and a natural shape.

  5. Aftercare & Review

We photograph the result and provide full aftercare instructions. Mild swelling and bruising can occur and is entirely normal. We schedule a 2-week review to check the result and make any minor adjustments if needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do dermal fillers last?

This varies by area and product used. Lip fillers typically last 6–9 months. Cheek and nasolabial fillers last 12–18 months. Denser fillers used for structural areas like the chin and jawline can last up to 24 months. Regular maintenance appointments keep results looking their best.

Are dermal fillers safe?

When administered by a qualified professional using appropriate products and techniques, dermal fillers have an excellent safety profile. The most serious risks (vascular occlusion) are rare and significantly reduced when treatment is carried out by a clinician with detailed anatomical knowledge. We carry hyaluronidase for emergency dissolving.

Can fillers be reversed?

Yes — hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved quickly with hyaluronidase (an enzyme injection). This is one of the key advantages of hyaluronic acid products over permanent fillers. We keep hyaluronidase on hand for emergencies and review appointments.

Will it be painful?

Most patients tolerate the procedure well. We apply topical numbing cream beforehand, and the filler products contain lidocaine. The most common experience is mild pressure or brief stinging at the injection point. Lips are the most sensitive area but still very manageable.
