General Questions
- Yes — we welcome new patients at all three of our clinics. You can book a free initial consultation online or by calling your nearest clinic. Same-week appointments are often available.
- Your first appointment is a relaxed, no-obligation consultation. Your dentist will examine your teeth and gums, discuss any concerns you have, and put together a personalised treatment plan. There's no pressure to proceed with anything on the day.
- Absolutely. We understand dental anxiety is very common and our team is trained to make nervous patients feel at ease. We take things at your pace and can discuss sedation options where appropriate.
- Yes. All clinicians at Acer Dental are registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) and maintain their professional development through regular CPD training.
- No referral is needed. You can book directly with us either online or by phone. We accept self-referrals for all treatments including specialist cosmetic procedures.
Appointments & Clinics
- All three clinics are open Monday to Friday 9am–5:30pm and Saturday 9am–2pm. We are closed on Sundays. For urgent dental needs outside these hours, please call your nearest clinic for guidance.
- We have three clinics: Preston (PR1 6PJ), Leigh (WN7 5SJ), and Tamworth (B78 3HP). Full addresses and maps are on our Locations page.
- Please call your clinic as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. We ask for at least 24 hours' notice so we can offer the slot to another patient. Late cancellations may incur a charge.
- We do our best to accommodate emergency appointments, especially for existing patients. Call your nearest clinic first thing in the morning and we will do our best to see you the same day.
- We do our best to ensure continuity of care. Please let us know when booking that you have a preference, and we will do our best to accommodate this.
Treatments
- We offer a full range of cosmetic dentistry including Invisalign, Night Aligners, teeth whitening, composite veneers, porcelain veneers, dental implants, and dermal fillers. All consultations for cosmetic treatments are free.
- Most Invisalign patients complete treatment in 6–18 months, depending on the complexity of their case. Your dentist will give you a personalised estimate at your free consultation.
- Yes — professional teeth whitening carried out under dental supervision is safe and effective. We use clinically proven whitening systems. Over-the-counter products are not regulated in the same way and can cause sensitivity or uneven results.
- With proper care — regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups — dental implants can last a lifetime. The crown on top may need replacing after 15–20 years due to normal wear.
- No. Composite veneers are applied chairside in a single visit using tooth-coloured resin. Porcelain veneers are laboratory-made and are more durable and stain-resistant, but require two visits. Your dentist can advise which is right for you.
Finance & Payments
- Yes. We offer 0% interest-free finance on treatment plans from £500, with flexible terms from 6 to 36 months. Finance is provided by Tabeo, an FCA-authorised consumer credit company.
- A full credit check is required to complete your finance application, which will leave a footprint on your credit file. However, using an FCA-authorised lender and repaying on time can positively influence your credit score over time.
- We accept all major credit and debit cards, bank transfer, and 0% finance via Tabeo. Payment plans are discussed and agreed before treatment begins — there are no surprise charges.
- Absolutely. Your initial consultation is free, and we will provide a full written treatment plan with itemised costs before any work begins. You are never under any obligation to proceed.
